01521 - Sensor for Tire Pressure
01521 - Sensor for Tire Pressure: Lower Limit Exceeded
Possible Symptoms
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
Tire Pressure too Low
Tire Pressure Sensor(s) not installed
Winter Tires without Sensors
Possible Solutions
Check Tire Pressure
Check/Install Tire Pressure Sensors
01521 - Sensor for Tire Pressure: No Signal/Communication
Possible Symptoms
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
Tire Pressure Sensor(s) faulty
Tire Pressure Sensor(s) not installed
Possible Solutions
Check/Install Tire Pressure Sensors
Check individual Sensors via Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
Special Notes
On Systems without Position Recognition (e.g. 1K-chassis Golf/Jetta or or 3C-chassis Passat), raise or lower the pressure in one tire at a time and double check the Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 001-012 (and 016) for changes. If you find one which does not change after raising or lowering the Pressure, you have most likely found the faulty Sensor.
Note: It may take up to 2 minutes before a pressure change is detected by the control module and displayed in the Measuring Value Block (MVB). To locate the individual Wheels it helps to make a note the Sensor Identification Number.
