Flushing the Brake System

Do not rely on flushing alone to clean a brake system which has been contaminated with dirt or corrosion. The flushing procedure may actually force dirt from the lines into the calipers or wheel cylinders. For a complete cleaning, the brake system must be disassembled and the parts individually cleaned. Use only brake fluid to flush the lines. Alcohol must not be used since it absorbs moisture and will encourage the accumulation of water in the system.
