Replacing Axle Beam Bushings

To replace the axle beam bushings, remove the rear suspension as a unit, as described above. Remove the pivot bolts and the mounting brackets and press out the bushings as shown in Fig. 6-9.

The new bushings should be aligned with the larger rubber portion facing front, as shown in Fig. 6-10. Press the new bushings into place so that the bushing protrudes 8.0 mm (5/16 in.), as shown in Fig. 6-11. Reinstall the axle beam as described in Removing and Installing Rear Suspension as a Unit, above.
