5.9 Valve Adjustment (diesel and turbo diesel only)

Depending on their date of manufacture, the diesel engines covered by this manual may require periodic valve clearance adjustment. The engines which require valve adjustments, all 1985 and some 1986 diesels and turbo diesels, are identified by a sticker on the cylinder head cover, shown in Fig. 5-10.
