12.1 Heated Seats

Fig. 12-1 is a schematic view of the heated seats. The control switches are variable resistors (sometimes called rheostats). Current runs through the heating elements, and then to ground. The control units on the fuse/relay panel receive temperature information from a temperature sender in each seat. The heating elements, the switches, and the control units are not repairable. For information on replacing the heating elements, see BODY AND INTERIOR. Remove the switch by prying it out using a screwdriver. The control units are removed just like any other relay by pulling them from the fuse/relay panel.
