Replacing Control Head

To replace a faulty control head, pull the control levers straight out from the control head as shown above in Fig. 4-5. Pry the trim plate from the instrument panel, and remove the screws holding the control head to the panel. Tilt the control head to remove the vacuum lines, electrical connector, and blend door control cable, then remove the control head from the car. Installation is the reverse of removal. Install and adjust the control cable as described above in 4.4 Heater and Controls. Install the vacuum hoses and electrical connections as shown in Fig. 4-24.
