Wheel Speed SensorsA wheel speed sensor is shown in Fig. 4-5. At the front wheels, the wheel speed sensors mount on the wheel bearing housing. At the rear wheels, the sensors mount to the stub axle mounting flanges. To install either a front or rear wheel speed sensor, coat the sensor with the special lubricant-Volkswagen part no. G 000 650-and place into position. Torque the mounting screw to 10 Nm (7 ft. lb.).
