Vacuum BleedingVacuum bleeding uses an inexpensive hand pump connected at the bleeder valve to draw the fluid through the system. It is a practical, do-it-yourself alternative to pressure bleeding, is faster than manual bleeding, and can be accomplished by only one person. Pumps of this general type are available from auto parts and supply outlets. Follow the pump manufacturer's instructions very carefully. Make sure that the hose connection to the brake bleeder valve is secure and air-tight. Check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder often to guard against emptying the reservoir and letting air into the system. |
