Pressure Regulator and Proportioning Valves

To prevent rear-wheel lock-up during hard stops, all cars covered by this manual are equipped with a pressure regulating device that limits the amount of hydraulic pressure applied to the rear brakes. Depending on the model, the car is equipped either with a load-sensing pressure regulator in the brake lines, or with two pre-set proportioning valves which are mounted on the master cylinder.
