Checking Disc Brake Pad Wear

In most cases, brake pads can be inspected by looking through a hole in the wheel as shown in Fig. 7-3 to inspect the outer pad, and using a small mirror to inspect the inner pad. For a more thorough inspection, or to view the pads when the wheels have no suitable holes, raise the car and remove the wheel. Minimum brake pad thickness specifications are given in Table I.
