GreasesTwo different types of grease are used for lubrication of drive train and brake components. Multipurpose grease (lithium grease) has a wider temperature tolerance range than ordinary grease and should be used for most general lubrication purposes, including roller bearings. Molybdenum grease is lithium grease with a friction-reducing molybdenum disulfide additive. This special grease, Volkswagen part no. G 000 602, is recommended for certain applications including lubrication of the drive axle constant velocity (CV) joints. |
