With CIS-Electronic (CIS-E) fuel injection, the oxygen sensor control unit operates the oxygen sensor system in addition to many other CIS-E functions. The signal from the oxygen sensor is just one of many inputs the control unit receives and processes in order to properly control the air/fuel mixture.
