Removing and Installing Radiator

Drain the cooling system and disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses, as described in 4.1 Coolant and Cooling System Hoses. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable from the battery and the harness connectors from the thermoswitch and cooling fan motor. On models with air conditioning, disconnect the connectors to the series resistor and cooling fan relay. See Fig. 4-11 above.

Remove the four bolts holding the cooling fan shroud to the radiator and remove shroud. Remove the bolts from the upper radiator mounts.

Push down on front grill retaining clip in radiator support and pull the grill out and up to remove it. Remove the four bolts that mount the air shroud, A/C condenser (as applicable) and radiator together. Pull the radiator back away from the condenser (as applicable) and lift out.

Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the mounting bolts to 10 Nm (87 in. lb.).
