Cylinder Head Assembly (gasoline engines except 16-valve)

Fig. 4-21 shows the cylinder head and valve train assembly found on all GTI, Golf, and Jetta gasoline engines except 16-valve.

Exploded view of cylinder head used on gasolies engines, except 16-valve. Cylinder heads with small, fine cracks between valve seats and plug threads are usable provided the cracks are not more than 0.5 mm (.02 in.) wide, and do not extend into more than the first few spark plug threads.
