In many respects, the Volkswagen diesel and turbo diesel engines are very similar to the Volkswagen spark-ignition engine. The most notable differences are smaller cylinder bore diameters, and the oil supply gallery of the turbo diesel block which is modified to accept piston-cooling oil spray nozzles.
