The 1.8 liter 16-valve engine, because of its different cylinder head design and valve arrangement, uses a different piston than the other 1.8 liter engines to achieve the necessary combination of compression ratio and valve clearance. The pistons for 2.0 liter version with its different bore and stroke are unique to that engine.
