Golf and Jetta diesel models use the same basic Volkswagen fuel system. Turbo diesel Jettas use a modified version of that system. In this section, the distinction will be pointed out only in those specific instances where a difference exists. Otherwise, all procedures apply equally to fuel systems for all diesel engines. When ordering parts, distinctions may be made by the engine code at the beginning of the engine number. ME is the code for normally aspirated diesels. MF is the code for Jetta turbo diesels. 1V is the code for ECO diesels.
