12. Power Options and AccessoriesThe power windows, the heated seats, and the heated/ power mirrors are all powered through the load reduction relay. If these systems fail together, one likely cause is a faulty relay. The central locking system receives its power directly from the battery through a fuse. The cruise control is powered only when the ignition is on. When troubleshooting these systems, check first for blown fuses. Fuses are simple to check and are a likely cause of trouble. Most Golf and GTI models use a circuit breaker on the fuse/relay panel instead of a fuse for the power windows and mirrors.
